Updating your Assessment with DMA Evaluate
Datamaran’s DMA Evaluate feature empowers companies to seamlessly and continuously update their double materiality assessments. This ensures proactive IRO management and alignment with evolving regulatory requirements. The latest enhancements introduce a targeted, data-driven, and adaptive approach, allowing teams to refresh analyses faster by carrying forward prior work, so you can focus on what’s changed since the last version..
Creating a new DMA Version
To begin a new Double Materiality assessment:
-
Navigate to your latest assessment.
-
Click the three-dot icon and select “Create new version.”
You will be taken directly to the Settings page for the new version.

Note: You can only create a new DMA version when all IRO assessments in the current version are complete.
If at least one IRO is still In progress (i.e., has assigned reviewer(s)), the Create new version option will be disabled. This gating is based on the Review status used in the SME workflow, not the Assessment status field.
1. Name Your New Version
Enter a meaningful name for your new analysis version to help distinguish it from previous assessments.
2. Choose Your Carry-Over Options
Decide which IROs you’d like to carry over from the previous version:
-
AI-generated IROs
-
Custom IROs (created via import template or added manually)
-
Both AI-generated and custom IROs (including IROs created via IRO Industry Landscape)

What happens when IROs are carried over?
-
Carried-over IROs retain their previous scores and rationale text (so you don’t need to re-enter them for unchanged IROs).
-
This includes IROs with active evaluation signals.
-
Score history remains available via the audit trail / history panel, providing traceability across versions.
- Each carried-over IRO is automatically assigned an Assessment status to help you plan the reassessment cycle:
- IROs flagged with a short-term signal are set to To assess.
- All other carried-over IROs are set to Not required.
Carrying over IRO scores and rationale reduces manual work during refresh cycles, maintains continuity between versions, and keeps reassessment audit-ready through full score history and the audit trail. The Assessment status then structures what you tackle next.
3. Update Your Assessment
Review and update your settings to reflect any changes in your organization or value chain for the new period.

By default, the stream weights will match those from your initial version. You can adjust them as needed for your new analysis.

4. Save and Run
Click Save and run analysis to generate updated topic scores. These scores reflect your latest inputs and the most current data available on the Datamaran platform.
Reviewing and Reassessing IROs
Once your new version is ready, use the Assessment status column and overview filters in the IRO long list to see what still needs attention:
- IROs set to To assess on carry-over (or added since) are the ones to work through first.
- IROs set to Not required can be left as-is, or promoted back to To assess if something has changed.
- Mark IROs as Assessment complete once you have validated the reassessment.
