Identifying Evaluation Signals - Short-term IROs
Datamaran’s Double Materiality Evaluate provides a scalable, logic-based framework for reassessing Impacts, Risks and Opportunities (IROs) topics, streamlining the process while preserving analytical rigour.
As part of our recommended approach, we suggest using short-term IROs as key indicators for annual reassessment. These are, by definition, time-sensitive and should be reviewed at least annually to ensure they remain relevant and accurate for annual reporting.
How It Works in Your Double Materiality Assessment
In your latest Double Materiality assessment, within the IRO Hub, any topic that includes previously assessed short-term IROs will be flagged with a specific icon, helping you quickly identify where a review is warranted and where you and your SMEs might want to focus your efforts first.

Click View Details to open a quick reference guide that explains the meaning of each icon.

- Click on any topic to view its associated IROs.
-
Within the IRO inventory, the short-term icon appears in a dedicated column for each applicable IRO, based on the previous assessment data. You can filter by this column to display only short-term IROs, making it easier to focus your reassessment efforts where they are most time-sensitive.
Tip: Use the short-term filter at the start of your annual refresh to quickly surface only the IROs that require priority review.

What You Should Do
- Filter the IRO inventory by the short-term column to isolate IROs requiring priority reassessment.
- Review each flagged short-term IRO to determine if it still applies.
- Confirm the accuracy of the previous assessment.
- If needed, the analysis owner can:
- Reassess the IRO directly
- Assign the topic to an SME for reassessment
