Identifying Evaluation Signals: New Topics

[Double Materiality module]

Datamaran’s DMA Evaluate provides a scalable, logic-based framework for reassessing Impact, Risk, and Opportunity (IRO) topics—streamlining the process while preserving analytical rigor.

As part of our recommended approach, we suggest reviewing newly relevant topics with no IROs identified in the initial assessment during your annual update.

How It Works in Your Double Materiality Assessment

In your latest Double Materiality assessment, within the IRO Hub, any topic that had no IROs in the previous version AND that is above the set screening cap or has been manually included in the Topic Lens tab will be flagged with a specific icon. This helps you quickly identify where you may want to evaluate whether a new topic should be added to your current assessment.

What You Should Do

  • Review each flagged new topic to determine whether it should be included in this year’s assessment.
  • Create new IROs where needed to reflect emerging or previously overlooked areas.
  • The analysis owner can then:
    • Assess the IRO
    • Assign the topic to an SME for assessment
