[Search module - Regulations]
Datamaran's Regulatory Search feature is powered by a proprietary and continuously updated database of soft and hard laws maintained by our in-house Regulatory Team.
Filters help you refine your search to focus on the most relevant ESG regulations across industries, geographies, and levels of enforcement.
Access the Search Module
Go to the Search module in the left-hand menu and click the Regulations tab.
The landing page shows a quick overview of the database, including the five most recently updated key regulations.
Apply Filters
You can apply one or multiple filters to narrow your search results.
The available filters include:
Regulation Status

Active: Initiatives already in force or applicable.

Expected: Initiatives that have been proposed but are not yet in force.
Regulatory flags

Regulations with sanctions
-
Regulations with disclosure requirements
Enforcement Level
-
Mandatory: Legally enforceable and binding.
-
Voluntary: Advisory in nature, not legally binding.
-
Conditionally Mandatory: Binding only under specific conditions (e.g., for certain member organizations or signatory states).
Targeted Entities
- Private company, Public company, State-owned company or Other entity
Gegraphical Scope
- Global
- Regional
- Countries
- US States
Issuer

Filter by Issuer (entity publishing the initiative)
Industry

Choose one or more industries.

To include cross-sectoral initiatives, toggle Cross-sectoral match within the modal.
Topics

Select topics the initiative addresses.

To expand the scope, enable Broader topic search to include initiatives where the selected topic is secondary.
Date

Filter by the year of creation or update.
Combine with Full-Text Search
Filters can be used alongside Full-Text Search to locate the most relevant regulations quickly.

Explore a regulation
Click on a regulation’s title to open a detailed summary, including a high-level description of the initiative's legal text, geographical scope, legally binding force, targeted entities, associated sanctions, sectors concerned, type of regulator, link to the source(s), related regulations, and overview of the non-financial topics referenced in the initiative.
The summary page has a shareable link. Use it to bookmark or share insights with colleagues.
Save and Monitor Your Search
Once your filters are set and the results displayed:

Click the Save & Notify icon to save your search.

Access it anytime via Load Search inside the Filters menu.

To receive automatic updates on new or amended regulations matching your filters, enable email alerts.
