Generating, Editing and Deleting AI’s Suggested IROs within Your Double Materiality Assessment

[Double Materiality module]

Datamaran’s AI-automated Double Materiality feature generates impacts, risks, and opportunities (IROs) based on companies’ corporate disclosures. This helps you quickly identify and assess relevant IROs for your materiality analysis.

Generating IROs

  1. Go to the IRO Hub tab.

  2. Review the list of topics, sorted by:

    • Available data evidence, and

    • Topics included by the topic screening.

  3. Click Generate IROs to suggest IROs for a topic.

  4. Click on a topic to review the AI-generated IROs, drawn from the public disclosures of the analyzed companies. Use the Value stream filter to refine your view.

  5. Limit your selection to 2–4 IROs per topic to keep the dataset manageable.

    • The IROs are ranked, with the most algorithmically prominent listed first.

Editing and managing IROs

  • Edit IROs: Click directly on the text to adjust the description to your organization’s context. You can also edit the automatic ESRS mapping.

  • Delete IROs: Click the trashcan icon to remove an IRO. (This action can be undone only immediately after.)

  • Assess criteria: Click on a specific IRO to review and assess its criteria.

  • The total number of IROs in the IRO Hub updates automatically as you edit, delete, or add new ones.

ESRS mapping

Datamaran automatically maps suggested IROs to the European Sustainability Reporting Standard (ESRS) and its AR16 component.

  • If needed, you can manually adjust the mapping in the side panel, including the topic, sub-topic, or sub-sub-topic.

  • Automatic mapping is a recommendation only and should be validated to ensure alignment with your reporting requirements.

If IROs cannot be mapped, they will appear as Entity-specific IROs.
