Creating an IRO Heatmap for Your Double Materiality Assessment
[Double Materiality module]
The IRO Heatmap provides a visual overview of your material topics and the number of IROs (Impacts, Risks, and Opportunities) associated with each topic and value stream. This allows you to quickly identify which topics have the highest concentration of IROs.
The heatmap is available for both Datamaran Topics and ESRS Topics, and can be easily exported as a visual table for presentations or reports.
How to Generate the IRO Heatmap
-
Navigate to the Materiality Review tab and define at least one materiality threshold for your assessed IROs.
The heatmap becomes available as soon as a threshold is defined.
-
Go to the Materiality Overview tab
-
Click on the table icon to switch from the visual matrix to the IRO Heatmap view.

-
The IRO Heatmap displays each material topic along with the number of IROs in each corresponding value stream.
-
Use the Datamaran / ESRS selector to toggle between the two topic frameworks.

-
Use the Export option to download the heatmap as a visual file that can be directly inserted in presentations or reports.
Notes
-
Topics will only appear in the IRO Heatmap if they have at least one assessed IRO.
-
The heatmap becomes available once at least one materiality threshold is defined in the Materiality Review tab.
-
You can switch between Datamaran Topics and ESRS Topics views at any time.
