Based on their sector, Datamaran’s proprietary algorithm calculates the weights for every single topic. These weights are applied in the sector Issue Mappings provided by the platform and result in a score between 0-1. This calculation is based on the prevalence and sector-specificity of each Topic in reports and news, and is managed behind the scenes by our team.
Topic weights are constantly reviewed and updated by our tech team in order to better reflect the evolution of the disclosures in reports and news.
To better reflect the EGS landscape, the industry issue mappings include all the topics relevant for each industry independently of the topic weight. These are rebalanced at each update.
