Setting Up Regulatory Monitoring Alerts
[Search module - Regulations]
Datamaran makes it easy to stay informed about ESG regulatory developments with two types of notifications:
-
Saved Search notifications – to track new regulations that match your search criteria
-
Individual Regulation alerts – to monitor changes to specific regulations
1. Saved Search notifications
Use this when you want to track new regulatory initiatives that meet specific criteria (e.g., country, sector, topic).
How to set it up:
-
Run a search in the Regulations tab of the Search module.
-
Apply filters (e.g., by country, enforcement level, issuer).
-
After viewing your results, click Save & Notify.
-
Name your saved search, ensuring you enable the "Send email notifications for updates" toggle.
What you’ll be notified about
- When a new regulation is added to the database that matches your saved search filters
- You'll receive automated email updates based on your selected frequency.
2. Individual Regulation alerts
Use this when you want to closely monitor a specific regulation. This is great for staying up to date on key laws or proposals you are monitoring closely.
How to set it up:
-
Click on the title of any regulation to open its detailed view.
-
Click the bell icon to start following it.

What you’ll be notified about
- When the regulation is updated (e.g., the text is modified)
-
When the status of the regulation changes (e.g., from Proposed → Active)
-
When a related regulation is added to the database (e.g., one that amends, implements, transposes, or repeals the initiative you are monitoring)
3. Understanding your notifications
Each notification in your weekly or monthly email provides context on the type of update and its relevance.
Entry into force wording:
-
Mandatory regulations: displayed as “entered into force”
-
Voluntary regulations: displayed as “launched”
This distinction reflects the enforcement level of the initiative.
