Datamaran's 'Issue mapping' editor tool gives you the option to assign categories to your issues (Eg. You may wish to sort by “Environmental,” “Social,” and “Governance”; or by the location of an issue’s impact in your value chain such as “Upstream and “Downstream”) with the objective of facilitating the storytelling of your ESG journey through the data shown in your materiality matrix. .
To add the categories to your list of issues, you need to:
1. Go to select ‘Issue mapping’ on the menu to the left of the page;2. Select your applicable issue mapping from the list;
3. Go to the ‘Categories’ tab to create your categories (up to 8 categories are allowed) and select a color for each category created;
4. Go to the ‘Editor’ tab to assign a category to each issue by clicking on the ‘Category’ box;
5. Change issue by clicking on the ‘Issue’ box to ensure you select a category for all issues;
6. Once you have assigned a category to all the issues in your topic mapping click ‘Save’.
You will be able to see the categories reflected in your materiality matrix, and the platform will give you the option to hide the categories if you don't want to show them by clicking on the option.
